    What did you learn from the three trees ?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    很久很久以前,山顶上矗立着三棵小树,它们谈论着自己长大后的梦想。
    Long ago three trees stood upon a hill dreaming of what they would become.
    第一棵小树梦想成为一个漂亮的珠宝箱,它对另外两棵树说道:“我想装载世界上最炫目的珠宝!”
    它开始想象自己是一个精雕细琢的珠宝箱,装满了贵重的宝石,闪闪发亮的金子以及其他的珍宝。
    The first tree dreamed of becoming a beautiful treasure chest. " I want to hold the finest treasure in the world !"
    she told the other trees. She imagined herself as an intricately carved chest filled with gems,gold,and other treasures.
    第二棵小树梦想成为一艘坚固的轮船。它骄傲地宣布说:“我要承载有权柄的君王和王子们,让他们乘着我周游世界,
    完成重要的旅行。”它开始想象自己是一艘巨型游轮,在大海里乘风破浪。
    The second tree dreamed of becoming a strong sailing ship.He declared proudly," I want to carry kings and princes
    on their important voyages around the world. " He imagined himself large and powerful, sailing the mighty seas.
    第三棵树不想离开这大山顶,它只想在山顶上茁壮成长。
    它说:“我希望当人们抬头看这座山的时候,会看到我站在这里,指向天堂。”它开始想象自己以后枝繁叶茂的样子,
    自豪、快乐地指向天空。它想象着,人们抬头看它时就想起了上帝和上帝对他们的爱。
    The third tree dreamed of growing great and tall." I want people to look up at the hill and see me standing here,
    pointing up to heaven," she exclaimed. She imagined herself full of branches , pointing proudly and happily to the sky.
    She hoped people would look up at her and remember God and His love for them.
    许多年过去了,在雨水的沐浴和阳光的照射下,三棵小树长得又高又壮。一天,三个伐木工爬上了山顶。
    Years passed and the three young trees grew tall and sturdy.
    One day three woodsmen climbed the hill where the three trees stood.
    第一个伐木工人看了看第一棵树,他说道:“这棵树很漂亮。木匠一定愿意买这样好的树。”
    他砍倒了第一棵树,把它带到了木匠店里。 第一棵树想:“我马上就要实现自己的梦想,变成漂亮的珠宝箱了!
    A woodsman came to the first tree and said," This tree will do.The carpenter will be happy to buy such fine wood,"
    and he cut the tree and carried her away to the carpenter's shop." Now I will become the treasure chest I dreamed of being !"
    thought the tree.
    第二个伐木工人看了看第二棵树,说道:“这棵树很强壮,造船的工匠一定会乐意买这样结实的树。”
    说完他砍倒第二棵树,把它带走了。 第二棵树想:“很快我就要成为国王的御用轮船了。”
    A woodsman came to the second tree and said, " This tree will do. The shipbuilder will be happy to buy such sturdy wood, "
    and he cut the tree down and carried him away. "Soon I will be made into a mighty sailing ship for kings! " hoped the tree.
    第三个伐木工人来到第三棵树面前,它站得更笔直了,自豪高兴地指着天空。但是那个伐木工人根本就没有抬头
    看第三棵树一眼,他喃喃自语道:“我要哪棵树都行!”然后他砍倒第三棵树,把它带走了。
    A woodsman came to the third tree. She stood proud and tall, happily pointing to heaven ."Any tree will do for me ,"
    muttered the woodsman, and he cut her down and carried her away .
    在木匠的店里,第一棵树并没有被雕琢成漂亮的珠宝箱。
    Back in the carpenter's shop, the first tree was not carved into a treasure chest.
    木匠仓促之中把这棵树做成了一个普通简陋的食槽,用来喂养牲畜。
    第一棵树陷入了深深的悲伤失望中:“我现在这个样子怎么能装珠宝呢?我只能装干草和麦秸了。”
    Rather, she was made into a plain and rough feed box for animals.
    " How can I hold treasure now ? I will only hold hay and straw," thought the first tree with deep sadness.
    在造船厂里,第二棵树并没有被造成能乘风破浪的大轮船。
    Back at the shipyard the second tree was not made into a mighty sailing ship.
    曾经强壮的它被锯开,造成了一艘简陋的小渔船。
    它哀叹道:“我只能盛满奄奄一息的鱼了!我现在这个样子怎能承载君王呢?”
    Rather, he was crafted into a simple and small fishing boat.
    " I will only be filled with dying fish! How can I carry kings ?" bemoaned the tree.
    在木材厂里,第三棵树被劈成了木头柱子堆放在院子里,它的愿望和美梦破灭了。它想:“我再也不能像我梦想的那样了,我现在这个样子怎能指向上帝呢?躺在这一堆木头里,只能等着被风化,然后腐烂了。”
    And in the lumberyard lay the third tree,in a pile of wood, not made into anything. Her hopes and dreams dashed, the tree thought, " Now I will not be what I dreamed of ,for how can I point the way to God now that I have been cut down ? Lying here in this pile, I 'll simply weather and rot. "
    很多年过去了,这三棵树几乎都要忘记自己的梦想了。然后。。。。。。
    Many years passed and the trees forgot their dreams. Then ...
    一天晚上,第一棵树做成的食槽跟往常一样站在一个再普通不过的马厩里,对周围的动物来说,它只是一个提供食物的地方。
    可是这天晚上却有些不一样,一对年轻的夫妇因为镇上人太多,客栈都满了,只能住在这个马厩里。
    当月亮高高升起的时候,一个婴孩出生了。
    年轻的母亲一边轻轻地把这个婴孩放在食槽里的干草上,一边轻轻地给孩子哼唱着动人的摇篮曲。
    一股敬畏之情突然充满了这个卑微的食槽,这个婴孩一定比全世界的一切珍宝更宝贵。
    One dark night, the feed box that was made from the first tree stood in an ordinary stable humbly providing a place of nourishment for the animals all around.
    Except, this night was different ! A young man and woman had found refuge here from the crowds of the town when no room was found in the inns.
    As the moon rose high over the stable, a Baby was born.
    The new mother sang a lullaby as she gently laid her Son on the hay in the feed box.
    A sense of awe filled the feed box. Surely this Baby was greater than any treasure the whole world could hold !
    又过了一些年,第二棵树每天只不过是在一条普通的小河里航行,在它的甲板上堆满了翻来覆去垂死挣扎的鱼。
    可是这天下午,这条小船没有像往常一样被塞满了一堆堆的小鱼,船主把它轻轻拖到了岸边。
    Years went by and the second tree found himself daily sailing the waters of an ordinary lake.
    Net loads of fish flipped and flopped on his deck.
    But one day as he skimmed the gentle waves, hisi owner pulled him to shore .
    岸边挤满了人,他们热切地聆听一位年轻人传讲着充满真理和生命的话语。
    人群实在是太拥挤了,为了让人能更清楚地听到他讲的话,那位年轻的老师必须站到岸边的船头上。
    老师充满权威的话语给这条简陋的小渔船带来了新的生命,它知道自己承载了万王之王的智慧。
    Crowds had gathered on the beach seeking to hear one remarkable young Man whose words were filled with life and truth .
    The press of the masses had made it necessary for the Teacher to set out into the lake to be heard better .
    The authority with which the Teacher spoke brought new life to the simple boat and he knew he carried in his hull the wisdom of the King of Kings !
    又一些年过去了。
    一个阴沉沉的星期五,在一堆被遗忘已久的木头柱子中,第三棵树劈成的木头柱子被拖出来钉成了一个很简陋的形状,捆放在一个人的后背上。
    当那个受伤的人被迫背着第三棵树艰难地走过长长的、满是尘土的小路,爬到山上的时候,它觉得难过极了。
    Just a few years later, the third tree was nailed into a rugged shape and placed on the back of a Man .
    She was sad that the hurt Man was forced to carry her down the long dusty path and up the hill .
    在山顶上,当那个人的手和脚被钉到第三棵树身上的时候,它几乎要哭出来了。
    几个小时后,那个虚弱的人断气了。这时第三棵树认为它美丽的梦想彻底破灭了。
    很快,那个人的尸体被取下来放进了坟墓,第三棵树羞愧地站在山上。
    At the top of the hill she nearly cried when the Man's hands and feet were nailed into her wood .
    She thought her dreams were over as the hours passed and the weary Man breathed His last .
    After His body was taken down and placed in a tomb, she stood shamefully on the hill .
    星期天的早上,当太阳升起的时候,第三棵树从山顶上往坟墓的方向望去,它惊奇地发现,几个妇人目瞪口呆地站在空空如也的坟墓前 !就在那一刻,它忽然明白,每当人们看到它的时候,就会想起上帝对他们的爱 !
    它满心欢喜地站在山顶上,把身子挺得又直又高,指向天堂。
    Miraculously, as the sun rose on Sunday morning, the third tree gazed from atop the hill to the place where the Man's body had been taken. She saw an empty tomb and women standing there amazed ! Suddenly the tree knew that whenever people looked at her they would remember God 's love for them .
    Full of joy she stood straight and tall on the hill, pointing to heaven .
    耶和华说:“我的意念非同你们的意念,我的道路非同你们的道路。
    天怎样高过地,照样,我的道路高过你们的道路,我的意念高过你们的意念。”
    ------------- 以赛亚书 55 : 8 - 9
    " For My thoughts are not your thoughts , neither are your ways My ways ," declares the LORD .
    " As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. "
